Miller Reflects on Senior Leaders

GAME STORY: Guerin girls fall in finals (TheTimes24-7.com)

If you ask Guerin Catholic girls basketball coach Scott Miller about seniors Kristen Schneider and Carly Osinski, he usually pauses and smiles, trying to choose the right words to describe his senior leaders.

“They’re two of the greatest kids I’ve ever coached,” Miller said after Senior Day against Richmond  Feb. 8.

Going into the Sectional 26 final against Bishop Chatard, Schneider was averaging 12 points and seven rebounds a game, both team highs. Osinski averaging 10.2 points and led the squad with 3.2 assists a game and 2.5 steals a contest. Her 10 steals against Indianapolis Marshall in Saturday’s first sectional game helped the Lady Golden Eagles to their first sectional title game appearance in school history.

Both Schneider and Osinski will continue their playing career at Trine University in Angola. They’ll be college roommates and continue a 6-year string of playing together that started as middle schoolers at Carmel. Osinski will also play soccer at Trine.

“I am excited to see what they bring to Trine,” Miller said Saturday.
